How to Setup your Domain

Step 1 - Connect your Domain with your Hankly Account

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and click on Connect Domain or Edit Domain
  2. Select Use my Domain.
  3. Enter your domain name i.e. www.keee.in and click on Connect my Domain.

If you see a yellow table, it means that you need to add some records in your DNS zone file. If you do not see a yellow table, you can skip to Step 3.

Step 2 - Add Records in your DNS

  1. Login to your domain name service provider account (the website where you purchase your domain from). For example, GoDaddy, Bigrock, Google Domains, Name.com, NameCheap, Hostinger etc.
  2. Select the domain you want to edit.
  3. Look for "Manage DNS" / "DNS Zone File" / "DNS Settings" etc.
  4. Add an A Record
  5. Name Value TTL
    @ 15.207.56.49 300 or Default

    Make sure that there are no duplicate A records with the @

  6. Add another record with type: CNAME
  7. Name Value TTL
    www @ 300 or Default

    For some domain name providers @ will not work as a value, in that case enter the domain name you're trying to connect without www as the value.

Step 3 - Test your Connection & Finish Setup

  1. Once you've added the records, click "Refresh & Test Connection" on the Connect Domain page in your Hankly account.
  2. The records might take some time to propagate depending on your TTL. If it still shows some other IP address in your current records table, wait for some time & try again.

  3. Once the yellow table is gone, it means that your records are propogated successfully, Click Connect Domain to complete your setup and enjoy your Forever Free Hankly Store.

How to Setup your Custom Sub-Domain

Step 1 - Connect your Sub-Domain with your Hankly Account

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and click on Connect Domain or Edit Domain
  2. Select Use my Domain.
  3. Enter your domain name i.e. blog.keee.in and click on Connect my Domain. (Replace blog with whatever subdomain you want)

If you see a yellow table, it means that you need to add some records in your DNS zone file. If you do not see a yellow table, you can skip to Step 3.

Step 2 - Add Records in your DNS

  1. Login to your domain name service provider account (the website where you purchase your domain from). For example, GoDaddy, Bigrock, Google Domains, Name.com, NameCheap, Hostinger etc.
  2. Select the domain you want to edit.
  3. Look for "Manage DNS" / "DNS Zone File" / "DNS Settings" etc.
  4. Add an A Record
  5. Name Value TTL
    blog
    (on any other sudomain, that you wish to use)
    15.207.56.49 300 or Default

How to Setup your Free Hankly Sub-Domain

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and click on Connect Domain or Edit Domain
  2. Select "Use a free Hankly Subdomain".
  3. Enter your desired domain name i.e. mydomain
  4. Click "Use Subdomain" to get your domain and enjoy your Forever Free Hankly Store. You'll now be able to open your store by going to mydomain.hankly.com

What is an SSL

SSL is a digital security certificate for your website, which ensures that your website is safe for your visitors and customers. For eCommerce website or any other website handling user information SSL certificate is a must.


How do I know if I have an SSL installed on my website?

You can open any website with an https:// prefix instead of http:// to check if the website has an SSL installed. For example if your website is www.keee.in, you would generally see http://www.keee.in in the address bar.

Try adding an "s" after http i.e. open https://www.keee.in. If the SSL is valid you'll a lock before the URL, clicking this should show "Connection is Secure". If the SSL is not correctly installed, you'll see "Your connection is not private".


How to Install an SSL on Hankly?

You can buy an SSL from hankly @ 299 only. However, your Hankly sub-domain comes pre-installed with the SSL for free. To install the SSL:

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and click on "Step 5: Install SSL
  2. Click Install
  3. Click "Pay @ 299 & Purchase SSL"
  4. Make the payment using your preferred payment method.
  5. On successfuly payment, your SSL will be installed automatically.
