Add a New Product

Step 1 - Getting Started

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and Go to Products & Inventory → Add New
  2. Select the type of product as "Product".
  3. Enter name of the product.
  4. Enter Brand name of the product, this is an optional field. You can leave it, until you sell products of multiple brands.
  5. Turn on the "Visible on Website" switch to make your product public to customers.
  6. If you want to hightlight your products as Bestseller or Recommended, select the respective option from "Preset Tag"
  7. Select the category of your product. You can add a product in multiple categories.
  8. Enter the tags related to the product, these tags help users search your products efficiently.

    Hit comma (,) or Enter/Return to add tags.

Step 2 - Add Description

  1. Add Product highlights to inform users about the benefits and features of the product. You can add 6 highlights in a single product.
  2. Write "About this Product" to give an intro about the product.
  3. Enter Product Details for the detailed description of the product.

Step 3 - Add Variations

Variations in products mean items having multiple attributes such as

  • For Clothes & many other generic products - Color, Size, Material etc.
  • For Gadgets - Processor, Memory, Storage etc.

Hankly allows 2 types of variations → Primary & Secondary. For exmaple, if you want to add a T-Shirt that is available in multiple colors and sizes, you can use Color as a Primary Variation and Size as Secondary Variation

    Let's assume you are adding a T-Shirt that comes in 3 colors Black, White & Red and every T-Shirt comes in 4 sizes S, M, L & XL

    For the above exmaple you'll have to add 3x4=12 Variation settings as given in the table below

  1. Add color as Primary Variation
  2. Add size as Secondary Variation
  3. Add MRP, this is maximum retail price. You can leave this field blank.
  4. Add Price, this is the selling price of the product.
  5. Add Shipping Cost, leave blank if you want the shipping to be free or inherit shipping cost from settings.
  6. Add items available in inventory.
  7. Primary Secondary MRP Price Shipping In Stock

Step 4 - File Upload

You can allow your customers to upload file for a product. For example, if you sell customized printed T-Shirts or Phone Cases give an option to upload the graphic that needs to be printed.

  1. To enable file upload, turn on the "Requires Input?" switch in Other Settings.
  2. Select preferred Input Type
    • File - If you want your users to upload a file select this option
    • Text - If you want users to write some text instead of file, select this option.

Step 5 - SEO Meta

SEO Meta card helps you set SEO friendly title and a product description to list your product better against competitors in Google, Bing or other search engines.

  1. Enter Meta Title. The ideal length for the meta title is 50-60 characters
  2. Enter Meta Description. The ideal length for the meta description is 155-160 characters

Step 6 - Click "Save Product"

This will save your product and you'll be redirected to the photos page.

Step 7 - Add Photos

  1. Upload main photos of the product in smaller (1st) file upload box. You can only upload 1 file in this box, the image uploaded here is used to show your product image everywhere on the website.
  2. Upload other photos in the 2nd, bigger file upload box. You can upload multiple files in this box, the image uploaded here are showcased on the product page to give better view of the product from every angle.

Step 8 - Map Photos with Variations

You can map your photos with variations. For example, if you product comes in 2 colors Black & Red...you'll upload 2 photos, mapping the variations with photos will let users see products in their respective colors when user selects the color they want to buy

  1. Click "Variation-Photos Map" tab
  2. Select Image(s) per variation mapping.
  3. Click "Save".

Add a New Service

Step 1 - Getting Started

  2. Select the type of product as "Service".
  3. Enter name of the service.
  4. Turn on the "Visible on Website" switch to make your service public to customers.
  5. If you want to hightlight your services as Bestseller or Recommended, select the respective option from "Preset Tag"
  6. Select the category of your service. You can add a service in multiple categories.
  7. Enter the tags related to the service, these tags help users search your services efficiently.

    Hit comma (,) or Enter/Return to add tags.

Step 2 - Add Description

  3. Enter Product Details for the detailed description of the service.

Step 3 - Appointment Settings

If you offer services that are based out on appoitments such as Salon Services, Hospitals & Clinics, AC Repair etc. use this section to setup slots.

  1. In Appointment Start & End Time → From textbox enter the time of 1st slot in time format such as 10:00 (do not enter AM or PM)
  2. In Appointment Start & End Time → To textbox enter the time of last slot in time format such as 22:00 (do not enter AM or PM)
  3. Enter "Time required to Service 1 customer" such as if you want to set time slots of 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM and so on. Enter 30, since every services required 30 minutes.
  4. Enter maximum bookings per slot to limit number of bookings customers can make in 1 time slot.
  5. If you've added From: 10:00, To: 22:00 and the time required as 30. Your time slots shows to the customers will be 10:00-10:30, 10:30-11:00, 11:00-11:30 and so on until 22:00

Step 4 - Add Variations

Variations in services mean items having multiple attributes such as

  • For AC Repair - Type of AC
  • For Doctor Consultation - Type of Consultation

Hankly allows 2 types of variations → Primary & Secondary. For exmaple, if you want to add an AC repair service, you can use Type of AC as a secondary variation. If you need any other variation, you can use Secondary Variation.

    Let's assume you are adding an AC Repair service for Window & Split A/C.

    For the above exmaple you'll have to add 2 Variation settings as given in the table below

  1. Add AC Type as Primary Variation
  2. Leave secondary variation blank, use this field if requird.
  3. Add MRP, this is maximum retail price. You can leave this field blank.
  4. Add Price, this is the final/discounted service price that your customer has to pay.
  5. Primary Secondary MRP Price Shipping In Stock

  3. Enter name of the event.
  4. Turn on the "Visible on Website" switch to make your event public to customers.
  5. If you want to hightlight your events as Bestseller or Recommended, select the respective option from "Preset Tag"
  6. Select the category of your event. You can add a event in multiple categories.
  7. Enter the tags related to the event, these tags help users search your events efficiently.

    Hit comma (,) or Enter/Return to add tags.

Step 2 - Add Description

  3. Enter Product Details for the detailed description of the event.

Step 3 - Event Timings

  1. Enter start and end date & Time.
    1. Click the field to open calendar and select the date.
    2. Click the clock icon and the bottom of the calendar to set the time.
  2. Select maximum number of allowed bookings/seats for the event.
  3. Click booking end date textbox, and select the date when you want to close the booking. Leave blank, if you want the booking to open until the date of event.

Step 4 - Add Variations

Variations in events mean items having multiple attributes such as

  • For a Comedy Show - Type of Seats
  • For Running Challenges - Type, Distance etc.

Hankly allows 2 types of variations → Primary & Secondary. For exmaple, if you want to add a Running Challenge with short and long distance runs, you can use Run Type as a Primary Variation and Distance as Secondary Variation

    Let's assume you are adding a Run Challnge with Short & Long Run Type and every types comes in various distances say, Short Run → 5km, 10km, 20km, 40km and Long Run → 100km, 200km, 300km

    For the above exmaple you'll have to add 1x4 + 1x3 =7 Variation settings as given in the table below

  1. Add Run Type as Primary Variation
  2. Add Distance as Secondary Variation
  3. Add MRP, this is maximum retail price. Use this field if you want to show an original price and offer events at discount prices.
  4. Add Price, this is the final/discounted event price that your customer has to pay.
  5. Primary Secondary MRP Price Shipping In Stock
    Short Run 5km 599 399

Step 5 - SEO Meta

Step 8 - Map Photos with Variations

You can map your photos with variations. For example, for an autidorium based event, show types of seats as variations and map their photos for your customers to have a better understanding of what they're paying for.

  1. Click "Variation-Photos Map" tab
  2. Select Image(s) per variation mapping.
  3. Click "Save".

Add a New Downloadable Product

Step 1 - Getting Started

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and Go to Products & Inventory → Add New
  2. Select the type of product as "Downloadable".
  3. Enter name of the downloadable.
  4. Turn on the "Visible on Website" switch to make your downloadable public to customers.
  5. If you want to hightlight your downloadables as Bestseller or Recommended, select the respective option from "Preset Tag"
  6. Select the category of your downloadable. You can add a downloadable in multiple categories.
  7. Enter the tags related to the downloadable, these tags help users search your downloadables efficiently.

    Hit comma (,) or Enter/Return to add tags.

  2. Upload other photos in the 2nd, bigger file upload box. You can upload multiple files in this box, the image uploaded here are showcased on the downloadable page to give better view of the downloadable

Step 6 - Add File that you're selling

  1. Click "Files for Sale" tab
  2. Click of drag and drop files to the file upload box. Make sure that your file is less than 50MB.
  3. If your file is bigger than 50MB, upload your file on a file hosting service such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, WeTransfer etc and copy the link in File URL field
  4. Click Save

These kinds of products are helpful when you don't want your customers to show price and first understand their requirements or products they require and then send a quote before finalizing the order.

Add a New Quotable Product/Service

Step 1 - Getting Started

  2. Select the type of product as "Quotable".
  3. Enter name of the quotable.
  4. Enter Brand name of the product, this is an optional field. You can leave it, until you sell products of multiple brands.
  5. Turn on the "Visible on Website" switch to make your quotable public to customers.
  6. If you want to hightlight your quotables as Bestseller or Recommended, select the respective option from "Preset Tag"
  7. Select the category of your quotable. You can add a quotable in multiple categories.
  8. Enter the tags related to the quotable, these tags help users search your quotables efficiently.

    Hit comma (,) or Enter/Return to add tags.

Step 4 - File Upload

Editing a Product

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and Go to Products & Inventory → View All
  2. Click the Pencil icon in the Actions column of the blog that you want to edit.
  3. Follow the steps in Add New Product to edit your product.
  4. Click "Save".

Duplicating a Product

Duplicating a product is helpful when you're adding a similar product and needs to change only a few small details.

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and Go to Products & Inventory → View All
  2. Click in the rightmost column of the product that you want to duplicate.
  3. When prompted "Do you really want to continue?", Click Yes

Your product is now copied, you can make changes to this page and publish it for your audience. The new product is always marked as Invisible on the Website until you make changs and mark it as "Visible on Website". Edit the product and publish it so that your users can purchase them.

Deleting a Product

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and Go to Products & Inventory → View All
  2. Click the icon in the Actions column of the product that you want to delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking "Yes" in the dialog box.

Manage your Products Inventory

  1. Go to your Hankly Dashboard and Go to Products & Inventory → Manage Inventory
  2. This page lists all your products with every single variation combinations that you've created.

  3. Edit the number on items available in stock against each Product + Variation combo.
  4. Click "Save Inventory" on top right of the page.
